Tiger Swallowtail
I grew up in the country when the City of Oregon, Ohio was still a lot of farmland.
I was always in the farmer's fields playing and looking at all of nature. I loved the weeds and the flowers they would bring.
When I got older and moved out of the family house, I found a house in the City of Toledo and still reside in that house I purchased in 1978.
I decided to bring my passion for butterflies and humming birds to me, since I could not afford to move back where I grew up. I have created a butterfly garden and share my seeds with people who would enjoy the beauty of the butterfly that will follow.
Here is a picture of a Tiger Swallowtail on a Gazinnia last summer (2007).
I have seen humming birds in my yard, which has been rare for me. I take pictures of every flower that blooms in the spring and throughout the summer. I document the nature that visits my garden.
Last year we had a family of gold finches eating my small sunflower seeds and cosmos seeds. I would see them every day in my garden.
