HAWK?

I have seen this bird a few times in my neighborhood. It was even in my back yard once and my Great Dane tried to catch it. The bird was long gone before she even got to him.

I have tried to take a picture of it a few times and finally got it. I am not sure what type of hawk it is.

Can anyone help me with this?
