Stalked Scarlet Cup.
A friend of mine lives on a farm, and behind the farm are some woods. We often go through them, and I take pictures of random things that catch my eye.
One day we were walking and I happened to look down to see the brightest color of red I'd ever seen in these woods.
After looking closer I assumed it to be a fungus. I did some research on the fungus and found that it was a Stalked Scarlet Cup (Sarcoscypha Occidentalis), so here it is.

Thanks for sending along your picture and story.
This is a nice picture. These guys are fairly small and can easily be overlooked.
They are usually only 1/2 to 1/4 inch across.
